Hi there! I’m Justin—the hands, heart, and soul behind Critical Paint Studios. I’m a 40-something artist living in Birkdale, Southeast Queensland, Australia, with my amazing wife and son. My journey into miniature painting began in 2017 as a creative escape during a challenging time in my life. What started as a hobby grew into a passion, fueled by the encouragement of friends and family who believed in my work.

Now, seven years later, this “thing” has blossomed into something incredible. At Critical Paint Studios, you’ll find the culmination of my painting journey and everything I’ve created along the way. Today, I paint commissions for clients, design and 3D print cosplay props, and sell stunning statues from incredibly talented artists to an ever-growing global client base.

I never imagined this hobby would turn into a full-time career, and I’m endlessly grateful to the amazing people who have supported and inspired me along the way.
